    Your information is NOT CORRECT!

Teachers are required to pay in 9% of their salary each year not the % you cite while they are employed and only those who teach 34 years are allowed to get back 75% of the average of their last 4 years salary as a pension.

Please get all your facts correct before you publish things that defame teachers who have given their livers to educate the children of our country.

The percentage reported is not the percent of salary paid into the fund; it is the percentage of their personal contribution to the total amount they will receive over a normal lifetime. Most private sector teachers receive no pensions and an average Social Security allowance of about $15,000 per year and must work 44 years to qualify.
